General and Auto Lighting
Poles for outdoor lighting fixtures can come in several different styles, shapes, thicknesses, colors and mounts. The minumum wall thickness of poles will be determined by the factory, based upon EPA and other approriate factors. Bieber Lighting Consultants offers you a wide variety of options as discussed below.

Pole orders always start with "P". Select a codes marked in yellow for each of the other 7 categories below:

Specify in feet the length of the pole length only - the height of the arms is not included in the length.
The EPA puts restrictions on certain height/thickness ratios.
Your available pole height may also be affected by local zoning ordinances. Pole height may also vary according to the number of lights per court.

Mounting is how the pole is connected to the ground.

A = Square bolt down pole. Standard size is 4"x4". In high wind areas, 5"x5" may be called for. Standard height for 6-light and 8-light systems is 20'. Check local codes for height restrictions and embedment requirements.
B = Square direct burial pole. Standard size is 4"x4". In high wind areas, 5"x5" may be called for. Standard height for 6-light and 8-light systems is 20' above grade. The pole typically extends 4' below grade into an 18" diameter concrete embedment, making an overall height of 24'. There is a 3/4" NPT pipe coupling for electric feed 18" above grade.

Bieber's slotted pole offers the economy of a direct burial pole with the reinforced look of a bolt-down pole. Reinforced hand-hole with cover.

Two underground slots 180° apart provide easy entrance and exit of conduit up to 1" PVC.
C = Round bolt down pole. Standard size is 4" diameter. In high wind areas, 5" may be called for. The standard height for 6-light and 8-light systems is 20'. Check local codes for height restrictions and embedment requirements.
D = Round direct burial pole. Standard size is 4" diameter. In high wind areas, 5" diameter may be called for. Standard height for 6-light and 8-light systems is 20' above grade. The pole typically extends 4' below grade into an 18" diameter concrete embedment, mak¬ing an overall height of 24'. There is a 3/4" NPT pipe coupling for electric feed 18" above grade. Also available in slotted style.
E = Beiber EasyMountTM slip-fit hanger arm. Available for any pole. A typical "single" arm is shown here; see Table B on page 8 for others. The Easy Mount hanger slips over the top of the pole and is secured with two 1/2" stainless steel set bolts. A provided removable pole cap gives easy access to wires. The fixture tailpiece slips over the 4' rectangular arm and is secured by two 1/2" stainless steel set bolts. (See more information at botom of this web page).
F = Embedment. Typical embedment for round or square direct burial pole. Check your local codes for what is allowed.
Bieber can supply square or round Ales in straight or tapered styles.

Electronic controls enable raising and lowering of these motorized poles with the flip of a switch — even from a remote location. The standard telescoping pole shown here measures 20' tall in the "up" position and 12' tall in the "down" position.
